| In 1980 he went
freelance and since then has written literally
hundreds of television scripts, from The Onedin
Line to Howards Way, from Boon to Heartbeat,
from Z Cars to Midsomer Murders, via Juliet
Bravo, and The Professionals. Most of those
series are still being shown on satellite channels
in Britain and all over the world.
“If I had to list my favourites, these
would be among them: Lovejoy, Maybury, Boon,
Forever Green, Poirot and, most recently, Midsomer
Murders.”

my hand to writing books. Detective novels in
the classic vein. The hero’s called Nathan
Hawk and he’s a retired Detective Chief
Inspector with a quick temper. He’s come
to live in a village like mine, hoping that
gardening and dinner parties will keep him happy.
